We are thrilled to share fantastic news regarding a crucial upgrade to our network infrastructure that translates into both major savings and enhanced protection for our community.
The LVCS IT Team successfully completed the migration of our primary internet connection to the Statewide Education Network (SEN) last night, October 30th, 2025.
This strategic initiative immediately frees up approximately $60,000 in annual operational funds, which will be directly available for district programs and classroom needs.
Additionally, the SEN integration provides a robust layer of network protection. Our overall security coverage has increased to an impressive 85%, significantly exceeding the public education industry average of 71%. This professional, data-driven improvement strengthens our district's position and results in a higher insurance rating.
This upgrade is a major step forward, demonstrating our commitment to smart financial management and providing the safest possible digital environment for our students and staff. We thank the IT team for their successful work!

Red Ribbon Spirit Week for our Elementary Schools!

Las Vegas FFA members attended the Albuquerque BioPark. Students were provided enrichment opportunities by attending the Zoo, Aquarium, and Botanic Gardens. The zoo provided insight and learning opportunities in animal science and livestock management, conservation, and career exploration. Our chapter will be getting fish this year and the aquarium was a great place for students to see large scale aquaculture systems. By attending the Botanic Gardens students had a living classroom for the day where they looked at plant science and horticulture; but specifically plant identification, propagation, and greenhouse systems.
