Las Vegas City Schools has steadily improved our graduation rate and has now reached the 82 percent mark, according to the data released by the New Mexico Public Education Department on Monday, May 18, 2020. The national average is an 84 percent graduation rate. As you look at the graduation rates, you need to look at trends and I am very happy to see we are trending upwards. Our goal is to reach the national average and of course once obtained continue to surpass. This is the 3rd straight year the district has increased its graduation rate. A stellar accomplishment for the district was between 2018 and 2019 as the rate increased by 7.5%. This is a group effort and we thank our educators grades K-12 as they all had a part in this increase. LVCS has a strong team and we celebrate their daily efforts as we continue on this positive trajectory.
